2022 - 2023 Edward A. Anderson Scholarship
The application period is now open for the 2022 - 2023 Edward A. Anderson Scholarship. This $2,000 scholarship is awarded to up to three pre-service college students each year. More information and the application are available on the Edward A. Anderson scholarship page.

We were able to honor the 2022 recipients of our grants, scholarships, and awards -- including the Mathematics Educators of the Year, Edward A. Anderson Scholarship winners, and the Virginia finalists for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching -- at a virtual award ceremony. Congratulations to all the awardees and thank you for all you do for our students in Virginia!

Ongoing Grants, Scholarships, and awards
Grant and Scholarship Opportunities for Mathematics Educators
VCTM provides several grants for Virginia's mathematics educators. Select Grants and Scholarships from the menu to learn more. Most of these are only available to current VCTM members--one more reason to join us today!
Flanagan Innovation Grant: This $5,000 grant is designed to support educators who wish to create a meaningful, innovative project to enhance mathematics instruction.
Karen Dee Michalowicz 1st Timers Grant: These grants are designed to support attendance at an upcoming NCTM or VCTM conference.
Professional Development Grant: These $1,000 grants will support attendance at conferences or workshops, tuition, reimbursement for mathematics education courses, or other professional development opportunities. Applications are accepted on a continual basis.
Ena Gross Professional Development Scholarship: this scholarship will provide funding towards tuition reimbursement for teachers seeking to add an endorsement to teach middle or high school mathematics or for career switchers seeking to become endorsed to teach mathematics.
William C. Lowry Mathematics Educators of the Year
Each year, VCTM awards the Educator of the Year to a teacher at each of the following levels: elementary, middle, high, math specialist, university.

Mathematics Beauty Contest for Students
VCTM is proud to sponsor the mathematics beauty contest for teachers. Each spring, we pose problems for a variety of grade bands that promote problem solving.
